Excessive organic contaminants

Shock treat with Activate to destroy contaminants.

Add a dosage of Activate (2 ounces per 250 gallons) to shock treat and regenerate the bromine sanitizer. Add Natural Clear (1 ounce per 500 gallons) weekly to prevent oily build-up.

Dirty filter

Clean filter with Filter Fresh or Minute Rinse.

Spa Clarifier used weekly (1 ounce per 250 gallons) will help the filter remove small particles that cloud water. In addition, clean filter as needed.

pH balance and total alkalinity incorrect

Test pH and Alkalinity. Adjust levels using Spa Increase, Spa Decrease, or Alkalinity Up. Lock in pH level between 7.0 and 8.0 range with pH Magic until spa is refilled.

When spa is refilled add pH Magic (3 lbs. per 500 gallons) to lock in correct pH level.

Dissolved chemical solids in water

Use Spa Clarifier to help filter remove small particles.

Once a week or whenever spa water appears cloudy add Spa Clarifier (1 ounce per 250 gallons).

Calcium too high (hard water)

Use Protect Plus regularly. Replace some of the water.

Add Protect Plus (1 ounce per 250 gallons) weekly to inactivate dissolved minerals in the water.

Body oils and dirt

Use Spa Cleanse to clean spa surfaces. Use Natural Clear regularly to reduce scum and odor-causing oils, lotions and organic materials in water.

Add Natural Clear (1 ounce per 500 gallons) once a week to remove scum lines and protect filter from oily build-up and clogging.
